I believe for gold detecting you need one of the PI machines.

I have a Sovereign XS-2a Pro, which is just an earlier model of the GT, which I use on the beach, where I think it is very hard to beat, particularly with its tonal discrimation.



However as a gold machine it rates very poorly. I use a GP3500 when gold detecting.
