New to prospecting
Hey guys,
I am from SE Melbourne and I am keen to look into panning , detecting etc.
I often go camping around the Taggerty area and heard that the town was originally built up around gold.
Is is worth my while to try panning in any of the smaller creeks in the area, or would I be better off waiting and going to a better known location?

Welcome Guroolotag,
You could try some panning in The Acheron as its Gold bearing. However Taggerty is not known as a major Goldfield
Cheers

Re: New to prospecting
G'day Guroolotag and welcome to the forum... I am not sure of the Taggerty area... Panning is how I first started off in this great hobby... Dad use to take us camping at Heathcote and that is where I learnt the art of panning... Don't do a lot anymore except when we dolly up our species we pan off the sand... I wish you luck in your new hobby and hope you find plenty...
Cheers.
Mike.
