Re: gpx 5000 problems
Hi ranaboat,
I hope you're not trying to work it in suburbia as the EMI around town will not allow you to use the machine or ground balance it.
PS I'm moving your post to the correct area.
Cheers

Re: gpx 5000 problems
Hi Ranaboat
The first part (eratic)sounds like EMI.You will need to manually tune,it may not be possible try different locations or early morning/another day.
The ground balance may be a front panel switch in the wrong position, make sure you have the correct coil DD/Mono selected, fixed tracking and reset to factory default to begin. It will help to begin in enhance or special(Fine gold selected at rear)
Read the manual carefully the answer lies within.

GPX 5000 problem
Hi Ranaboat
Also check that you have not accidently put the machine into specific in ground balance type in your menu. Mate did this the other day and could not balance it when he turned it on and fixed issue when he changed it back to general.
Regards Ian

Re: GPX5000 Problem
G'day Ranaboat pay to check the coil lead is tightened up properly into the Controlbox... This can cause the machine to be erratic as well... I would check both leads as well...
Cheers.
Mike.
