Newbie in Brisbane keen to learn!
Hey everyone!
My name's Corbi, and i'm very new to the whole idea. I have been reading heaps about the concept of panning and gold mining and have decided its something I would enjoy!
That said, just wondering if there's anyone in brisbane that would be keen to maybe take me out for the day and show me the ropes. Maybe out samford/dayboro way as i've read a couple of posts about the possible findings out there.
Really keen to get into this, so i hope to speak with you all soon=]
Cheers,
Corbi

Hi Corbi
Welcome, there are a number of members here in your area, so it wont take to long for you to meet up with someone.
I think there is a club in Brissie too?
good luck
Maybe post something in the General section looking for help in Brissie

Re: Newbie in Brisbane keen to learn!
Hey Steve and Lea!
Thanks for the reply. In all honesty I have no equipment at the moment. I'm still a youngin at 22 (please don't let that discourage you from helping me!!!) and have found myself compelled to take this up as a hobby on my own. I'm looking at getting a pan come pay day and probably just hone my skills on that first prior to getting a detector. Still doing a lot of research so I'm getting pretty impatient to get out there and play!
I'll have a look at that club you linked me!
Thanks everyone!

a pan is always a good staring point, look at crevising as well, suitable impliments like screw drivers, hammers, maybe a coal chisel and so on
where in bris are you ??? as for age m8, tis more about attitude to some hard work in the bush
happy hunting

Re: Newbie in Brisbane keen to learn!
Yeah definitely! Hence why I wanted to head out with someone to see what they use, and how they use it.
Haha yeah I definitely understand the attitude part. I did scouts for about 10 years so don't mind getting my hands dirty and being out bush.
I'm in alderley so about 10 minutes north of the city. I've read a bit about panning around Sanford, dayboro, and cedar, but can't seem to see if anyone's actually found something. What's the closest to home you guys have found the yella?
