There is another side to dealing with these scams, on the information you have, It would have been easy for the police to arrest this guy and recover and gear or money.

In this day and age, getting the police to act is the hard part.
At one time the police acted against all crime, now they have their own criteria for
any action.

Awhile back, my son got assaulted in a mac donalds, all recorded on camera, but the police
would do nothing.

For some time now, the police don't serve the citizen, they serve
the politicians.

The politicians have different needs to us, they need to lower the crime rate without
paying for extra police, so they reduce the crime rate by failing to act or even record
the crime.

The police have a name, a phone number and a bank account number so they have no excuse not to act.

If the local cops try to fob you off then go to the Superintendent of that police area and demand some action.

I have Pm'd you some info I dug up on that name...not for public viewing...you never know who is reading the forum posts Suspect

Hi Blue, if you have no luck getting your money back, let me know, I know how hard it is to get the cash to enjoy a hobby, so am willing to help out with a few bucks towards the loss. I could have also been easily burnt, having bought my 5000 on ebay....maybe others could also help out? This is a lesson that all forum members can get benefit from. Hope they nail the mongrel.

Hi Blue, not sure how you are going with the Police line of things, but I used to work for a big four bank and the security department of that bank took a big interest in accounts being used for fraudulent purposes. You may not get any joy with your local branch but I am sure if you got hold of the fraud section of the bank associated with the scumbag, with all relevant details (Police reports etc) you may have some joy?

Sorry to hear of your being scammed. It leaves a sour taste in the mouth of all of us!

I do hope you and the other member do get your money back some how.

I think the best kind of punishment and to set an example for scum like them is 1 bloke hold him another hold his hands on a block of wood and another smash his hands with a pick handle, he wont be able to type scamming 'for sales' then.

Sorry to hear you were ripped off mate. This blokes phone number came up on the forum below as well when I googled his mobile. Looks like another vicim. Surely the police can contact him as mobile numbers have to have an id to obtain, it appears to be a Telstra number. Also ther is bank account at the NAB that the guy below paid the money into. How much more do they need??

Hope they get this scumbag and you guys get your moneys back. If he really is in the Albury/Wodonga region there is another infamous scammer that sells rangertells and who's first name is Vincent who also lives in Wodonga I believe..... Wonder if they are related by any chance????

I'll think you'll find it's in regards to the same person as refenced by the link provided to this topic, the more exposure a scam gets the less effective it should be.

Also don't send money to someone you don't know -
Get them to send the item C.O.D Cash On Delivery - you can then take the cash to the post office and pay to receive the item
Beware of Ebay -
Paypal is owned by ebay - Paypal is a scam in itself,
I had sent items, the guy received (proof of delivery by Courier) and he lodged a dispute - item not received with Paypal, ad they gave him his money back, and took it off me - $500

Just be careful
