hi all just to let you all know that i bought a gpx5000 off johnny12 for $5150 paid for it never got it, and was not posted at the post office he said it was posted from which was mallacoota vic. now he is back again as gold seeker with the same thing advertised with the same phone number.the police are now involved,so beware of this scammer low life

Hi Folks, Hi Blue, sorry to hear you have been robbed, I did have my doubts about this one, it all sounded a little too good to be true , when I rang the seller he said he had no digital camera and he had a buyer coming up fom melbourne, probably saved me from losing my money, I sincerely hope this scammer gets what he deserves.

50 posts is a bit over the top there are a lot of people here that dont feel the need to post replies constantly that are still honest detectorists. Its up to the individual to check things out before buying.
I am in Brisbane and am open to going to have a look at any machines for sale in Brisbane for someone interstate and giving them some feedback on the seller and Im sure there are others that would offer to do this in other states.

If you have a mobile number and you paid money to a bank account i am sure they can trace up with something.
Its not hard to trace few things- even the IP number from when this crook logged in.Who is service provider etc.

Where is the will there is a way.

Hope they get what they deserve and you get your money back.

When it involves "big ticket" items, forum members should open a Paypal account....I and another forum member got taken for a ride by a forum member (1 posting) ...items never arrived....I asked for the tracking number.....that was the last I heard from the seller.....because we paid by Paypal we both got our money back.

No pictures , no feedback = No get my money!! Buyer BEWARE!!! Just rang the number and got a guy that sounded a lot like the other guy with the $4999 bargain I spoke to the other day same story about no digital camera he did give me a serial number B80428974046450574676NNQ8........does that seem right? does anyone know how to verify the serial number? says he has had a lot of calls yet still has no plan to provide pictures,I cant be the only one that asked for them!, something smells funny to me and its not clown ****.

hi all on the gold forum thankyou for your reply's and good wishes we will all learn a lesson from my mistake, i thought i was getting a reasonable deal,i was heading to the W.A forum meet in sept next year but that is on hold now till i earn some more money, i will just have to mow a few more lawns. i am from the bush which your word is as good as a hand shake{obviously not}.i hope nobody else gets taken by this dickhead

I have often come across items for sale that I know are a scam. If its a buy now I buy it wait a couple of days, ebay contacts me and removes the item. At least I know I have stopped anyone from being scammed. If its auction its a different story. Pay Pal is only 45 days to make a claim. So be careful with that.

Minelab runs a registration bureau. All you need is the number of the machine and coils. Okay I am a mug and purchased my machine through an authorised distributor before all the new mickey mouse ID came out - by the way minelab ID microdots have been around to my Knowledge for at least 12 yrs - and they were another Aussie invention. So I guess if I wanted to flog my 5000 as a legit model I would go back to them for verification
