First WA trip with biggest nugget found so far - 4 oz
HI all,
I and a mate just came back from our first WA trip. We went for 5 weeks but took the families and made it a bit of a holiday tour up the centre and down the west and back home. We managed to get about 10 days in detecting in total. Not a lot of time but was a good starter to get the layout of the land and see some more ground to research on Tengraph for next year. I ended up with just slightly under 5oz's in total with close to an ounce in small bits which I now have on ebay. I also pulled a find out of my A*s one morning out in a spinefex choked gully, in the side of a hill. I got a broad signal but it sound like a rusted bit of sheet metal had broken up and been spread out in a line down the slope for about a meter.
The bottum end was inverted but the top was more like a close small target. So I dug the first bit thinking it would give me an indication of what the target was. To my surprise it was a small chunk of gold about a gram. So I could only guess as to what was making the inverted signal deeper bellow. As I kept digging I continued to pull out more smaller bits and eventually got to a 5+ grammer at the bottum. But when I put the coilt back in the whole it appeared the main signal that was now screaming still had not been dislodged. So with a few more attacks of the pick into the slate I finally unearthed my biggest nugget to date, which was just under 4 ounces. It made my day to say the least, and its going to be a long 12 months to get back out there.
I also would like to sell this nugget but my ebay account is capped to 5k sales a month, so would just like to let anyone interested to PM me for more info.
Cheers
Paul

Unreal find Paul. I can't imagine how excited you would have been - well done. And to think you had that gold hidden up your A*s. Can you pull one out for me?

Top job Paul, what an amazing find. That's what I love about this "hobby", you never know if you're going to find something and when you do, you never know how big until you dig it out of the ground.
PS I might be available in about 12 months if you need a "buddy" to check out the rest of that gully...
