Hi everyone, Im interested in doing some prospecting and was wondering if anyone knew of area's in the mt isa region ? And what equipment would be good for a newbie.

Hi Nin
There is plenty of gold out your way, mostly around Cloncurry, if you dont have a detector you could do some panning, or you could get yourself a Dryblower.

wat type of gold is most commonly found up this way ? Alluvial or nuggets ? From the bit of research i have done, top camp at cloncurry seems to be where to go ?

Mate there is nuggety gold in your area & also fines in the gullies, as far as a detector goes what is your budget?

Thanx for the reply, I dont want to spend to much money incase I dont continue the hobby but I want one suited to the type of ground out here.
Mainly looking for nuggets, on a side note in really enjoying the research side of thing and have been able to locate top camp cloncurry using pictures from orion metals drilling reports.
