5000, B&Z booster great combo

went for a swing this morrning and picked up a few small bits wich iwas happy about then tryed a few other spots with no luck. i tryed a spot that a few bits had been picked up before hand and was hit hard with the 45. i was swinging away with the 15x12 commander and got a drop tone signal i new it was going to be gold but how deep and how big. it must been standing up on it nose as i unpluged the booster to see how the 5 would go picking it up with out the booster. it was their a little drop tone but not as loud enough to pull you up i think. i put the booster back on and it stood out like anything.... i dug down about 25 to 30cm and got a nice size....this is why i think it was stitting on its nose as if was laying flat it would of realy been loud.

all up 7.80g bigger bit 6.52g great 5hrs

For someone who can't seem to find even a little piece of gold, can you tell me what the Booster will do?

Does it just get louder or does it only amplify the "lower" indistinct sounds.

Is there a video which might help me identify the sounds I am after?

Today we dug 30 odd pellets or maybe more. Is this what everyone else does??

I can find bits of wire 1mm diameter by 3mm long. So would this mean I should find gold if it is there.

Getting a bit dejected here. I know patience is a virtue, but I need it NOW

hey waznme, the booster produces a clear signal response on small and deeper targets it just runs smooth until you hit a target. it just amps eveything up. i have been in the same boat as you with the rubbish but just kept at it. if you even just start on the old diggings just to pick up a few small bits. doing that tunes you into the detector. if you are picking up these things like wire and that it wont be long before you hit the gold... what detector are you using?

I have a 5000, bit the bullet (I have plenty )

I will be out there again tomorrow, only have a few days left. Will have to start homeward next Wednesday at the latest.

Good showing there Stoppsy, Congrats. Waznme you cracked me with your " Bit the bullet ( I have plenty ) Mate if you are finding bullets, lead & small bits of wire you will find gold, Just havent been lucky enough to walk over some as yet.
I bit the bullet today so to speak & am picking up a 4 mth old GPX5000 on monday, ( Used once, you can barely see any scratch marks on the coil skid plate ) So am hanging to find out how good it is against my trusty 45. Them Boosters sound interesting, Maybe..............

Yeah Thanks Stoppsy, Been watching your progression from 4 to 45 then the 5, An interesting ride ! This 5 i am picking up comes with headphones & a speaker so a Booster could be a good addition for that combo, I have stuck to using headphones to date as i dont mind wearing them.

Waz the gold isn't everywhere so if your not in the right place digging more holes won't help.It just takes time and persistence to find the first bit,take the time to look around and target likely areas.

will be good to see what you think when you get out and try it, i love the 5000.

I`ve used a B&Z booster on my 4500 since i got it and it does help with controlling the signal strength.Once you have one you just take it for granted as being a useful add on...Nice going on the finds too
