Nugget Finder 24"x12" Empty Nugget Finder 24"x12"

Post  goldquest Fri Mar 02, 2012 3:42 pm

Hi here I am with another question, I have an 18" NFA and I find it very difficult to pinpoint with, I was thinking to sell it and buy a 24"x12" instead, now there is any one on the forum that have used this coil? Will perform OK with a GPX 5000? I detect in the Gold Triangle.
Any information will be very much appreciated. confused

Cheers

Hi GQ,
an absolutely superb coil on the 5000! Brilliant ground coverage, depth and doesn't miss even the tiny bits. Pinpointing is a dream!

I haven't played about with the 17 x 11 as of yet, but I found the settings were much the same to what I was using on my 18 round, which in turn was simillar to what I run on my 14 round.
On the bigger coils though, I often drop my gain a notch or two and run in enhance instead of fine. Works for me though there are nodoubt more optimum settings out there from the more experianced big coil users.

Nugget Finder 24"x12" Empty depth with the 24 by 12 ?? How does it compare to a round?

Post  Imadogman Thu Oct 11, 2012 8:34 pm

How deep does do elipitcal coils go? I have a NFA 24 x 12 that I have not really used and I am looking for something to give me some depth in a reasonably open area. Would it be the same as say an 18 inch round? or a 12 inch round in terms of depth. The coil length gives good coverage.

My other coils are a 15 x 11 eliptical NFA and the minelab 11 inch mono and DD. Ground is fairly quiet but with a bit of rubbish on which I will use the DD with discriminate at the end of the day when I am tired of digging big arse holes for rubbish!
