gpx 4500 settings for coil choice
Hi. I'm new at detecting. So just to get started on the right track I have a GPX 4500 and intend to detect around the Inglewood Area.
I have the following coils.
Standard Minelab 11 Inch DD
CoilTek 10 x 5 Mono Epiliptical
Nugget Finder Adavantage 16 inch Mono.
Could someone help me out with the settings to use for each coil or advice as to which coil would be best for the Inglewood Area.
Thanks.

Re: gpx 4500 settings for coil choice
hey mate, the best way is to go factory preset (FP) on the hole detector (hold down the on/off swith for a few secs) and detect the grounds for a bit then play around with the settings...evey detector is not the same and all the grounds are different.

Hi GB
The correct coil here at the moment from yours is the 10x5 on worked ground close to diggings and gullies to give you the best shot at gold, the most common size is 0.5-2g.The ideal coil would be an 11"mono.If you are going to work open ground and have experience the 16" can be used but its a long way between nuggets.
Due to the high ironstone content of the ground here I use these settings:
Enhance
Fixed
Volume Limit 5
Motion Slow
Rx 12-14(12 for normal detecting 14 for careful slow detecting)
Stab 8
Signal 17
Target Vol 8
Tracking Slow
These settings are for headphones so raise the vol limit and/or target Vol if using a speaker.Pm me if you have any issues.
