Type of gold - Chrystalline Gold

Hi all, would anyone know if this is what's refered to as crystal gold? Was found in a patch of reef gold and weighs in at .94 grams. Cheers Shiraz

Re: Type of gold - Chrystalline Gold
Looks like what some collectors sometimes refer to as "cubic-crystalline" gold. Because of it's small size it won't fetch exotic prices but your pictures are very good and would assist in selling it to a prospective collector. Should sell well above its gold weight at spot-price.
It's definitely crystalline gold and you can see the chevron shapes in one of the crystals on upper right hand side of the nugget shot in the last picture.

That's a damn fine looking nugget. Fine details for a 1 grammer.

Byronbinalong and Dave...Glad you like the photo's, but they really don't do justice to these pieces. Unfortunately I don't have anywhere near the photography skills of Nero.
Here are a couple of real porous pieces I found a couple of weeks ago. Looks like the should weigh alot more but are very fragile. They were in clay and I probably rubbed some gold off until I realized how delicate they were.

Great nuggets Echidna, some day I hope to find a nugget that won't need the macro setting on my camera to photograph it!
