Why are boosters being used on the 5000
Hi, after watching JP's unwrapping the 5000 and some pictures of guys with their detectors I see there are some with boosters attached. Is it that the audio adjustments available on the latest detector arent good enough. I can understand on the older models but why the 5000. Just curious as I have only had about 1 hours use with my new 5k

i like mine as i run a 2 external speaker setup. If it's windy i can turn the volume up. likewise if it's quiet. i can turn it down.
I have also had better luck with external speakers than i have with headphones.

I run a reeds lucky lark battery on my 5000 it has an inbuilt booster and volume control,
I love it as it is so easy to adjust without going into the 5000 settings once they are set.

I prefer the externals mainly because I like air flow around my head...it gets a bit hot and sweaty with the 'cans' on...
