How hard do you work for gold
After watching this video, and as exciting as it is i`d rather swing the detector but then again if i started to dig a deep hole knowing that there was gold at the bottom...then give me the pick, shovel and crowbar and let me at it
A beautifully shot account of dedicated prospectors....did i say dedicated.thanks for posting Johnny.

Good vid Hobo. Makes me want to not be sitting at the damn computer! As for how hard do we work when panning or sluicing, pretty standard.
Cheers

Re: How hard do you work for GOLD?
Great video. I haven't done it that hard, but after a solid avo of digging and feeding material into a sluice, my back tells me that I've done the best I can.

Re: how-hard-do-you-work-for-gold
Thanks for sharing the video hobo. It was good to see someone slaving like me. I don't think I have moved that much soil in 2011, although I did move a few large rocks. I know the hard work of panning made me buy a river sluice, still hard though especially after the wet weather moves your gravel out of your hole.

Re: How hard do you work for GOLD?
Thanks for the video, brought back some very distant memories from when I was poking around the East Gipsland ranges. So long ago now that I sometimes wonder if it ever realy happened.
Cheers.

hi HOBO
yes Darc'e in the videos is one of the most dedicated prospectors I have seen, I have spoken to him on his forum many time and cannot get over the lengths he goes to. He also makes some great high banker/sliuces just check out his Utube page

Glory Hole, this is what we did to get gold
The hardest part of this project was to carry two 6hp pumps, 40 metres of pvc 100mm pipe, hoses, fuel and all the other gear 200m up a very ruggered ck, the hole we think may have been once an ancient waterfall.
The hole was nearly 20 feet deep.
We damned the creek then set up the pipe as a flume to devert the water then set the pumps going, we camped on site and it took us 2 days to get to the wash. The bed rock angled steeply down and actually went under the rock wall like a cave. we can't disclose how much gold we got as we are looking at this spot again in the future as it gets major flooding quite often.
cheers Tezz
