Expired lease north east of Ballarat (Nerrina)
Does anyone know anything about the Nerrina area, noth east of Ballarat? I wanted to check it out but im not sure whether there is a lease on it.
A company by the name of North Ballarat Pty Ltd had several leases on that area. There website has a map: http://www.northballarat.com.au/northballarat_003.htm
Something that got me interested from their website: "Nerrina has a recorded production of 200,000oz of primary and alluvial gold. However, this relates to only 3% of the mapped workings."
The area im interesting in checking out is here, to the left of the White Swan Reservoir: http://maps.google.com.au/?ll=-37.51806,143.915526&spn=0.030158,0.066047&t=v&z=15&vpsrc=6
They have three leases in this area
EL4834: 13/07/2005 to 12/07/2010 (expired I think)
EL5699: 06/09/2006 to 05/09/2014
EL4993: 17/01/2007 to 16/01/2012 (about to expire, and they haven't submitted a renewal to the DPI yet)
I got this expiry and renewal info etc from: http://www.dpi.vic.gov.au/earth-resources/investment-and-trade/licences-permits/minerals-extractive-licences/mineral-tenements-curent-exploration-licences
Can anyone steer me in the right direction as to how I would confim that EL4834 has definately expired and im not going to get shot if I prospect there?
Thanks

In the past when I did Victoria, EL over one year old could be pegged without EL permission. No permission required for fossicking.

Expired lease
Brad, I find the best way to know if a lease has expired is to ring the DPI at Bendigo and tell them the lease number, I trust Ballarat and other regional DPI would have the same info on the computer. That way the info is up to date.

Re: Expired lease north east of Ballarat (Nerrina)
If you like to see the Currant EL of the Ballarat area Brad in Google Earth then here is the link,
You will need to download it from here Ballarat EL.kml
Once the page opens you will see a add , got to the top right hand side and click (skip Add) then download it.
Here is a Photo's of the gold I got back in 2000 with the ML-2100 you just do not know what I left behide so if you want a x marks the spot map I give it to you
Still lots of rubbish about but that just means lots of gold still to be found

You can prospect on an EL and in fact if you really get interested you can peg an ML under 5 hectares
