Post  yellowmellow Fri Dec 02, 2011 4:02 pm

Hi All,

I would like to know the main differeces between these 2 detector models the gpx4500 and gpx5000.

In feb 2012 thinking of traing in my gpx4500 for a gpx5000 if possible if its benifical.

Also which spots for gold detecting for the Chewton and Campbells Creek area also Castlemaine are worth a try.

What does everyone think of gain 10 and stab 8 on the gpx4500 using enhance.

Also how do you put gpx4500 into enhance as this is my prefered timing.

Cheers,

Tim Eureka

Tim

Please read through the comments on the 5000 and the 4500 in their respective areas. Most of the questions you ask have already been answered.

Tim, people are still finding good gold with the 4500.

If i were you, i would hold off upgrading until the new Minelab machine gets released. But thats just my personal opinion.

Hi Tim ,
I traded my 4500 about 6 months ago on a 5000 , All i can say about the two machines is they are both great
my mate runs a 4500 and he finds gold whenever we go out together,
However on every occasion we have been out my 5000 has found more gold on every occasion than his 4500
we have detected together the entire time i have had the 5000.
I find the 5000 quieter and therefore i can wind up the settings to push it, yes my 4500 found me a lot of gold
but the 5000 is a better machine.
Cheers

Tim,
Not wishing to offend, but you dont know how to use your 4500 properly yet, let alone upgrade to a slightly different/better model. Mad
you seem to be pissing money that you can ill afford, into the wind, without taking advantage of the excellent machine you already have.
After watching you post for some time with many questions, getting some sound advice, not saying thanks for those replies, then asking for more advice along exactly the same lines, it had to be said.
You seem to want a map with a big X on it, and a "use these settings exactly, and you will find giant nuggets here"
Some sound advice here, which you will probably ignore, 'read every question you've posted, apply the knowledge given, and if all else fails,
just enjoy the walk'

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autism

Autism is a disorder of neural development characterized by impaired social interaction and communication, and by restricted and repetitive behavior. These signs all begin before a child is three years old.[2] Autism affects information processing in the brain by altering how nerve cells and their synapses connect and organize; how this occurs is not well understood.[3] It is one of three recognized disorders in the autism spectrum (ASDs), the other two being Asperger syndrome, which lacks delays in cognitive development and language, and Pervasive Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified (commonly abbreviated as PDD-NOS), which is diagnosed when the full set of criteria for autism or Asperger syndrome are not met.[4]

Autism has a strong genetic basis, although the genetics of autism are complex and it is unclear whether ASD is explained more by rare mutations, or by rare combinations of common genetic variants.[5] In rare cases, autism is strongly associated with agents that cause birth defects.[6] Controversies surround other proposed environmental causes, such as heavy metals, pesticides or childhood vaccines;[7] the vaccine hypotheses are biologically implausible and lack convincing scientific evidence.[8] The prevalence of autism is about 1–2 per 1,000 people worldwide; however, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports approximately 9 per 1,000 children in the United States are diagnosed with ASD.[9][10] The number of people diagnosed with autism has increased dramatically since the 1980s, partly due to changes in diagnostic practice; the question of whether actual prevalence has increased is unresolved.[11]

Parents usually notice signs in the first two years of their child's life.[12] The signs usually develop gradually, but some autistic children first develop more normally and then regress.[13] Early behavioral or cognitive intervention can help autistic children gain self-care, social, and communication skills.[12] Although there is no known cure,[12] there have been reported cases of children who recovered.[14] Not many children with autism live independently after reaching adulthood, though some become successful.[15] An autistic culture has developed, with some individuals seeking a cure and others believing autism should be accepted as a difference and not treated as a disorder.[16]

Hi Tim, at the end of the day mate it's up to you if you want to move on to a GPX5000, but the advice from fellow prospectors has been sound and I agree with them I would stay with your GPX4500 for now. Jefgold has given you some links for previous answers to your questions, and this will help you out a lot, just stick with your 4500 and enjoy the prospecting experience and getting to know your machine better, good luck out there. Smile

Cheers Brian.

Tim, have a look at the end cap picture below. To put the detector in enhance, push the soil timings switch up to enhance.
Thanks to Ismael.
