4500 Settings file
Hi everyone, I was thinking of making a settings database for everyone to use that people have found best for certain areas or mineralisation. It is basically extracted from the GPX 4500 manual and has the fields available for filling in with the settings. This is what it looks like.
You can't see the fields in the images but they exist. It is in Acrobat format (PDF) and is available to download from this link:
4500-UserSettings.pdf
or you can download from my website in the downloads section.
Anyone comments are welcome including suggestions for a better concept. Once you have filled them in you can email them to me and I can compile them into like a book form and upload to here again and keep it updated as they come in...
What do you think? we could also do this for the 5000 and maybe the 4000 also.... Anyway let me know what you reckon.

Re: 4500 Settings file
Thanks all for the backing. I also have a query, after downloading and filling in the form, is anyone experiencing problems saving it? Nightjar and another say they can't save it. Can someone get back to me if this is the case? I tried the downloaded versions and they worked for me, they have no protection but I am the creator so it may just work for me. Would appreciate any feedback... Thanks
Re: 4500 Settings file
Ismael. On mine the blank form can be saved but a "windows" note comes up and says the form has to be printed out after filling it in ( any changes to it cannot be saved )

Re: 4500 Settings file
Hi All, I have uploaded another PDF (original link in first post). Can you let me know whether this solves the issue. I did a search through Adobe and I have followed their instructions. I didn't even know of this issue. I can fill it in as I am the Author!!
Hopefully this will work.
Hopefully this will work.
Re: 4500 Settings file
Yes it now can be saved on my PC, which will allow me to now send a filled in version back to you.

Re: 4500 Settings file
Thanks Dave, also for others as Dave found you can't send the PDF as an attachment from this site (or any I would add) so send via my email which is: ij@minelabmods.com
Thanks Dave for being the first. Also remember to make multiple setting forms just save as a different name. Don't forget to fill in your name and other details (No GPS locations needed, unless you want to ). I will probably make it into an Excel sheet for upload (makes it easy for sorting) and/or a PDF for those without Excel.
Thanks again...

Re: 4500 Settings file
Just a thought as I was making the database. Do you think I should add on the second page whether you run fixed or tracking and coil settings also? I have only received 2 back so far so even though a lot thought it was a good idea they are not sending in any settings... Makes it hard to create a database with just 2
Catch you later...

Re: 4500 Settings file
Hi Guys, I found a few bugs that have been pointed out to me when adding multiple settings, Soooo, I have changed the file. Sorry, but you will have to re-download it. It is more simple to fill in with radio choice buttons instead of the ticks. This way you can't accidently put in multiple ticks in one area. The above link (first post) for the 4500 only at the present. I may not bother to change the 4000 or 5000 unless requested. To save time here is the link again to download:
