SD voltage
G day all
I only have a basic understanding of DVT so can anybody tell me if running an SD at 7.3 / 7.2 volts go someway to make up for the lack of DVT ?
Thanks Brett

Re: SD voltage
G'day fisherman,
7.2v helps a bit but my advise is not to worry about having MPI or DVT.
Best guy I ever seen swing a detector was about 78 years old and used an old battered 2100.
This guy could pull a couple of grams out of his wife's flowerpot!
When the Extremes were the latest detector, a couple of semi pro's using them gridded hell out of a patch of ground and then invited the old guy to see If they had left any. The old guy went over in the afternoon and found 3 bits between 1 and 4 grams, anyway he had a few hours spare the next day, so he wandered back to the old patch and found a nice 10oz bit.
The detector is only about 5 - 10% of it, the rest is up to you.

Re: SD voltage
Brett,
Was talking to Ismael today and mentioned how a mate of mine wandered through a thrashed area and got a "Tin Can" response from his SD2100. He did a scrape with his boot thinking the signal was so responsive it had to be trash, he flipped over an iron coated specie with 30.8g of AU.
Cheers
Peter

RE: SD voltage
30.8g thats fantastic!!!
The good discrimination on vlf's these days can make you a bit picky about what to dig so since coming over to pi's i have tried to maintain a dig all signal mentality, it would be nice to walk over one like that.
