Great website.I looked at the 'forgotten gold rush of Georgia',which includes a really interesting series of (volcanic) gold deposition theories to explain how gold was deposited in different rock types in the region. Its well worth having a look.

Re: Mountain Of Gold
Good afternoon gold dreamers and thanks Beepin Pete for the links.
Love the term `here in the mining friendly province of Salta'. And how does a huge mining company get to own outright a country's resource rich land? Usually involving `facilitation fees' to highly placed officials. And as Snuggs observed, `I bet they end up polluting the place coz its not their country.'
Yes, mining involves jobs and spin off but with all the excitement the reality is that if the mine does make oodles of profit it will go where corporate profits usually go... to obscenely wealthy shareholders and big chunks of cash to executive officers. Often security is left in the hands of locals who are keen to impress their employers by slapping trouble makers around and worse.
Perhaps we could organize a delegation to see if they will allow a party of detecting friendly Aussies to have a wave around.
Yours tropically, Harry

FANTASTIC
is interesting how they can show exactly how and where gold is. will make somebody rich. I bet they still will not be happy
I just luv getting out and enjoying nature, and finding a bit to keep excitement up.
