Re: ufo and 5000
I'd be surprised if anyone is. That coil was designed for the earlier generation GP detectors whereas the Coiltek Goldstalker range was designed for the GPX series (though it is backwards compatible with the earlier PI units). The old 24x12 coil would not be ideal for the GPX 5000 but I have no doubt it would work on this machine. The better coil to consider using on the 5000 would be the 24x14 mono Goldstalker [released 2011]. It would be superior to the older model.

G'day Dave
Mate i use a 17x10 Mini UFO on my 5000 at times and it runs like a bloody bewdy...
Gotta say the Mini UFO is probably my all time favourite coil, cant knock em in any way for performance.

Yes, I do use one on my 5, works great! Rugged performer.
I won't buy another goldstalker for personal use till their updated to Litz wire.

Re: ufo and 5000
Hi phoenix. I did a comparison test with two 24 x 12 UFO's on a 5000, and found them very low in sensitivity to targets up to 3 grams , and also a bit noisy.
There was a big difference between these two UFO's , so one may have been faulty. Neither were satisfactory on my GPX
This was in comparison to an 18" Commander, and and old 18" green ML kevlar .
As others have said the later 24 x 12 Goldstalkers and NF's may be better .
They were also a bit dull on my Extream

Re: ufo and 5000
I had a go with a mates GPX 4500 running a mini UFO 17 inch on the weekend. Bluntly....I didnt like it. It may have been a faulty coil because it groaned and farted on everything, falsing against all sticks and rocks. Now I can handle noisy ground and slight falsing with a big mono coil no prob, but this was near un-usable.
Maybe it was his settings and not the coil plus I think the detector had been modded.
