Hi all just picked up a new gpx 5000 Im also new to prospecting want to head back home to WA soon for a look around near Wiluna, but before I go want to head up near Hill End to get to know the machine, any good places around there that I can go? Hill End itself there are historic posts everywhere meaning you cant go anywhere near the town from what I can gather.
Plus what coil is best to use for around that area out of the box and setting wise would I use standard settings thanks in advance.

G'day DaveW

From Hill End go towards Mudgee about 4 km and you get to where an old chimney is on your left hand side, this is the Tambarooa fosicking area just follow the track in over the creek take the left fork and detect as hard as you can go.

Map, Tambarooa

Funny you say that about the chimney stopped and took a couple of pics of my new Landy Defender right near that the other day.

Hi Dave, welcome to the forum, haven't got a clue about that area but as far as the settings go, make that manual your best friend, get yourself into Factory Preset and play with it until you get a reasonably flat threshold and you're on your way to learning the machine, good luck out there.
