GPX 5000 - When will it be released?

Hello,

Does anyone have an idea when the next NEW GPX model will be released? As im in the market and dont wont a new model arriving the day after i purchase the latest GPX.

The GPX-4500 was released just on a year ago so your guess is as good as anyone's. In the past it's been at least 18 to 22 months between models. I looked at the previous model's release schedules and it was indeed 18 months between all the last releases.

You would think the 5000 would be out pre christmas.From all reports the 4000 and 4500 have been tremendous sellers with the mix being upgrades and new poeple attracted to our hobby.Babyboomers are certainly a major part of this.It certainly does hurt to buy and and loose a grand in depreciation a few weeks latter on the release of the newest model.The other side of the coin is that those who cant afford $6000 for the latest can now purchase great secondhand machines at what you would call reasonable prices.What should always be remembered is with experience and a bit of luck great results can be achieved with any previous model.Each one was considered the best in the world for its time.As I detect in a group that runs 3 generations of machines most of the time it comes down to the operator and a tad of luck.Like golf using a driver only will not be the optimum way to play.One machine with one coil cant do it all.We went through the found at 36 inches era and currently we are on the back over my old patches era.Im not saying this isnt real as it probably is.The one thing it does show is that one machine didnt get it all and there will still be gold out there for the myriad of coil and machine combinations you can run with

I'm betting October 2009, with a new technology breakthrough, enough to cause a ship load of people to update their 4000's and 4500's.

I reckon that when the new 5000 come out it probably wont be much better than th4500, but it will be designed along the same lines as the etrac, where people will be able to down load settings into their machine via the internet for diferent areas,

Is there some new info about e next GPx 5000 ? When wil come ?????????
