The Eureka Gold gets my vote, its a lot more versitile with triple frequency's and re-chargable battery..

What Pete said.
I was using one a few weeks ago and it had no problems working on the 20khz freq around ironstone. The 60khz was unable to get to the ground in this area tho... same problem in this area with the 705 using the gold coil.

The Eureka Gold is a dedicated gold prospecting machine...the 705 is more of a multipurpose detector, and in my opinion is not really suited to prospecting even with the gold coil.
