Re: Minelab E-Trac
Detrack,
I dont know the E-trac, but Chris Durbridge has writen a glowing report in the GG&T magazine, on the Garrett GTI 2500.
Might be worth a look?
Brett.

Re: Minelab E-Trac
I have one and it is fantastic once you get your head round the various settings and what they do. It seems to work very well around Clermont on coins etc (mineralised gold fields ground), had an original Explorer running beside it and the difference between the two was amazing. Kids had a ball with close on 50 bucks in two outings hanging around the parks etc, the auto sensitivity control is a very good idea, also pays to read Andy Sabisch's book, lots of tips and explanations hidden within.

Hi Detrack,
Checkout this forum: www.minelabowners.com
Mainly UK members, but there's a good tech section with tons of info on the Etrac. Programs etc.
The guys on here are very helpful. JP chips in there too.
Also checkout: www.mlotv.com
Which is a spinoff of the above forum. It's dedicated to just video's on the Minelab gear.
cheers,
Steve

I am leaning towards the E-Trac and thanks for the help as these machine are new to me so looking forward to get one soon as I off for a week at the end of the month for a week around Beaufort,Ararat, stawell,St Arnaud, and do have some site to give it a go.
Thank
David

The E-Trak mate, amazing piece of gear especially when compared directly with the original Explorer, chalk and cheese.

Re: Minelab E-Trac
All, I have a Sov GT, An Explorer 2 and the E Trac.
If you are after old coins/relics then get the E-Trac,
If you want modern coins get the Explorer 2, but, mind you, I have still found $600 + in 4 weeks with the ETrac

Re: Minelab E-Trac
madmax, what do you use your Sovereign GT for?? Or does your E-Trac make it obsolete?

Re: Minelab E-Trac
I bought the GT , then a 180 metre and a Sunray probe for it.
Then got the Explore 2, then the Etrac, then sold the Explorer 2 but fornd the Etrac is not a lover of surface coins so I re bought another Explorer 2.
The GT have become shy and spends most of its time hidden away in the cupboard.
The Sov GT is a great machine but I can only use 1 at a time.
Been over the West, swinging a 4500 for the past month,
Was going out today with the Etrac but its to cold.
