Gday,

Was thinking of spending between 500-1000 on a metal detector,
Was wondering what, new brand and model people are having the best success with in the bush
at the present time.

Thanks in advance.

Best instrument for the bush. Empty detector?

Hey there, The best new detector getting around is the new 5000 from minelab. They sell for around $6500.
A bit out of your range..... maybe for your budget you could hire one or settle for a older detector. This isn't the type of game you can skimp on for your gear... if you want to consistantly find nuggets.
regards Steve.

Howdy

In your price bracket the option are

New Minelab ex-Terra 705 gold pack $950 appx (vflex)
s/hand Fisher Goldbug2 $600 - $1000 Appx (vlf)
s/hand Minelab sd2000 $800-$1000 Appx (pulse induction)..... (will flog the ones above for depth and also handles the ground better).
