Google Earth Maps - What to look for ?
Hello
As a relative novice to gold detecting I realise information is very important. Maps, newspaper articles, books etc... these is a heap of information on gold fields. I have noticed on a few sites that people recommend to download the KMZ files for Google Earth which show old gold mines. I have done this. Yes I can see hundreds of old sites ( im looking at the Victoria Map ), and when I click onto one of those little yellow circles a plethora of information suddenly springs up onto the screen about that mine. Hhhmmm now what !!?? Adit, ORE_DD,Size_Cat what do all these mean. To the point, which of these characteristics do I need to know ? What are the most important facets I should know about when looing at old mines.
I apologise if I seem a little vague or naive, but any help would be most appreciated.
Cheers
