Vehicle Security - Any tips?

Some great answers there and some funny ones, but now lets get serious because this is a relevent topic and we need to go through all the suggestions and work out which is the best one which will stop car theft.

After much thought I believe I have come up with a good solution which would suit most members here, Use your Mother In - Laws Car

I love the idea of using snake I just need to bet over my all things that slither.

Problem.
Who says the criminal minded is not amongst us and reading our every move.?

Im sticking to the used nappy idea.....however, now the cats out of the bag on the ingredients, whats to say i don't substitute the snickers for the real thing.?

Indeed, I bought a 4' fish tank with all of the heating gear etc the other day, now the wife wants me to get fish I told her NO, that was for the snake

Mate, i went halves in 3 boys & a girl, iv seen, inhaled and handled all the naturally soiled nappies im gunna....till im old enough to soil some of my own...and then its someones else's turn.

Keep a snake in your car..... it should deter most people

My little trick is the "roof spider". I have a VERY large and realistic spider pinned to the roof lining between the rear-vision mirror and the drivers sun-shade.
It wont stop them breaking in but they wont stay long or steal the car. I had my Disco broken into a few years ago but it appeared the thief had a sudden change of mind as nothing was disturbed and the drivers door was left wide open. I bet he wished he'd worn his extra-brown safety trousers

With El Cheapo trail cams around I was thinking that a small printed message on the inside of the windscreen with
"Smile you are being photographed by remote video surveilence" might work.
Even better still spend the hundred bucks on a camera and hide it in the bushes. And use the sign as well. If you want to spend more money motion detected video could be sent to your I-phone. But then you would have to scramble back and spoil a dood day on the coil.
Got this idea becasue I belong to a community garden and we had trouble with break-ins, so erected dummy cameras and a few signs and the break-ins stopped.

Leave a note stuck to Driver Window that reads:

"I'm watching you!"

i have a windscreen cover with 4 rottweilers snarling. the caption underneath says' THERE'S NOTHING IN THIS CAR WORTH LOOSING YOUR LIFE OVER !'  seems to work !
