WA Tenements For Ozi

For those that maybe heading over to the west this year.

I do all my Tengraph off line as I have the data on my hard drive that way I can pull it apart and lay the layers as I like to see them here is a selection I have done if there any help to you all good.

If you have Ozi-Explorer then download this lot and load them onto your map to get a guide on what Tenements are there.

Tenements are in Shpe File's as some like that way.

They are done as MIF File's so you will need to load them in Ozi as that

Load/Import/from mapinfo Mif file.

Also have done a Access Spreadsheet as well for each of them so you can view all details of the tenements.

Thanks very much for this information.

I am a half wit with computers. I managed to download this and I think I unzipped it. I put it in my MAP file in Ozi. I tried "Load/Import/from mapinfo Mif file" as you suggested, but when I click on that file, there is nothing there. Any ideas which might help me ?

I am going across to Leonora / Laverton in May for five weeks and I am doing lots of research here before the trip.

hi jigalong, i couldnt make head nor tails of ozi so started using GPS Trackmaker (the free version) then download the Australian map and unzip into Gps trackmaker, it seems to take most map and file types (only thing i cant get it to do is connect to my etrex H in vista, but does it fine with XP) the maps that david posted open fine (the shp part of the file) then just "save as" and it gives uu the same file name as the download. i just created a new folder on the desktop called gps trackmaker maps. uu can zoom in and out on map down to 5mtrs, use the 4 directional arrows on your keyboard to move the map up/down/left/right and can use mousewheel to zoom in/out. here is a link to the web site;

look on left side of web page and will see "MAPS" pick that and download australia map from there.
i import text waypoint files etc into it and works great, hope this helps, regards, gary

First mistake the Files of mine is Data not maps so need to be in Ozi-Explorer/Data not the Ozi-Explorer/map sub folder as you have done.

Make sure you have a good All state of WA Map load so it's easy to see them loaded

Load the Mif File.




Now select the one you want to see.




You will then see them loaded.



Now we will change the Track properties.




Then change to what you like.



See the Change in color and track width

Just make sure you are loading the Mif files not the Shpe file as the is to downloaded post up one is in Shpe and the other is Mif.

Thanks again Detrack, the MIF files are possibly just a fraction easier to use than the SHP type files. You are a legand mate.

Thank you for that. I will go and have a look at the site, but I have to say, I have been using Oziexplorer for two years and even though half the time I have no idea what I am doing, I am pretty committed to it.

I am trying to figure out how to overlay maps on it at presest.

I like spending time looking for old diggings in WA on Google, then putting the waypoints onto Ozi. Half them will probably turn out to be just natural features, but the odd one might turn out to be something special. Keeps me off the streets anyway.

G'day David,

I have successfully downloaded the file and loaded it on Ozi as you told me. It works fine thank you, the outlines of all the leases are all shown.

Once I have seen what leases are there, where do I go then to see what kind of lease it is and who holds it ? Do I go to the Tenograph site?

These file's are only for a guide to the area you wish to go and help to show what is there but also very help full in cross ref: to what you see on the Tenograph site.


I would love to be able to show you how to get all the detail on Ozi but time in showing and posting is a lot longer then making the Data Files for you.

With Mif: File there is not attached info but the shpe: Files there is.

Incredible. I hope I can do it again when I want to ! Unfortunately, when I print out this post, it does not print your diagrams.

I followed all your instructions and I ended up with red licence squares all over the place . Are these all of the pending leases in WA ? If so, what are all the other files in that lot I downloaded ? Sorry to be such a pain. I will be eternally in your debt for this ! Need any fishing lures ?

Since Easter is coming up I feel I should be nice so you will really like this.

This is the Google Kml file for PROSPECTING_LICENCE_Pending only just unzip it open Google and then load them in once you see them on the screen just click on the one you want to see and all the details will be there.

The link is a few post down now as it has been changed.

I will post all up If I get Time as I am off to look for the same stuff you all are look for so will be off for a week but will do what I can.

I downloaded this last file which was giving info on pending leases. It has kml files on it. How should I put this into Oziexplorer ? As I said before I am a dunce with computers, so thanks for all this help.

Hi Jigalong


KML files are for Google Earth if you have google earth on your computer just click on the file and google earth will open with these being displayed just zoom in to where you want to have a look.

You must then save them in your google earth favourtes which = "places", as otherwise thay will be in the "temporary places"

When loaded in google earth, they appear as solid blue patches, just single left click on one of the blue patches and all the info about this one appears on the screan to read.

Detrack this is fantastic, I hope everyone else appreciates what you have been doing....... as I sure do

when you move over the screen, the hand shaped mouse should turn into an arrow shaped mouse pointer as you are on a blue area........now while you are on the blue area left click once and the info should appear. Works for me anyway.

This should make easy to see the lease as there in white.


What Dave is telling is right it will show up all details.

I re doiwnload the file, now its in white until you zoom in then it turns blue. I get the white hand but it doesnt turn into an arrow. If i go to the left window the I can click on the files and it opens a box with info but it wont work when I single left click on the blue area..

I have the same problem as madmax. I have the blue areas on the Google page, but the hand does not change to an arrow and I cannot get any info from those blue areas.

It is interesting that there is so few pending leases around.
