Hi All,

I am hoping to head off for a couple of weeks prospecting in the Meekatharra, and possibley Cue area. My question is whether anyone has stayed on these 2 parks and if so what they thought of them. Am taking my 2 young children with me so figure there is a bit more to do in Meeka seeing as they have a movie theatre

I was planning to spend a week first at meekatharra and then, if having no luck in Meeka, heading down to Cue for a further week. Never been to these areas so have no idea what they are like for prospecting. Will just be needing a powered tent site but cant seem to find any info on the net as regards to price etc.

Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Hi, has been 12 months since been over that way and I know where I would be staying, At Cue as is a clean tidy park and resonable price. Im not racial so dont get me wrong, we never stayed ar the Meeka park but the indigonous population certainly put us of and shopping was as not so plesent. Shopping could have been slightly cheaper at meeka but could do without the hassle and safety concerns. There is good detecting all around both the towns if you want to travel a bit and we did well in areas that looked hopeless. Give both parks a call, they will give you current prices. Thanks Travelergold,

I heard the locals had a bit of a set to a couple of weeks ago in Meeka, so maybe it might be wiser to stay in Cue and just drive to Meeka daily, especially having kids with me. Not the best experience for them to see that sort of thing going on.
Cheers
