Laanecoorie Weekend Wrap Up
Hi All,
Well what a weekend and how was that turn up
Firstly I would like to thank Jim & Robyn at the park for what can only be described as a sensational effort in showing all our forum members a great weekend. Starting with name tags on arrival, a wonderful pre dinner event on Saturday night, backing it up with a great Sunday night of entertainment and Monday with a very late check out for some. To Jim, thanks for a very very informative talk and sharing your wealth of knowledge so freely with all who attended. To both of you, thank you for showing us all some real Laanecoorie hospitality, I'm sure many people will return to catch up in the future.
To all our fantastic sponsors, A BIG THANK YOU, the raffle went off without a hitch, I think we had about 35 - 38 people in for the nights activities. The main prize of the Coiltek Coil went to George from over the boarder, and a very happy man he was. I think most people ended up with one or two prizes, in fact I think every one was very pleased with what they won.
You should all be proud of yourselves as we raised a total of $650.00 for the SCOSA charity that was nominated by Coiltek, and to Trevor at Coiltek thanks for all your support, I'm sure there was plenty of Coiltek caps wandering around the bush on Monday.
To All our Sponsors,
Coiltek SA
Gold Prospecting Australia
Gold Search Australia
Laanecoorie Lake Side Park
And the members that donated prizes
Thank you from the forum and to all Forum Members please remember these names when you are next purchasing your equipment.
Now for the Tally,
As of Sunday night we had a total of 36 pieces of gold found by members plus the 6 pieces that ARARAT took home that day, this makes a total of 42. I was out with Graham ( who may I say snagged 19 gms on Sunday ) and saw him add another one to the list, so that is 43 and by the way that was well over 1oz from that little spot.
What I now request from all those who attended is a final tally from each member and their weights so we can post a final count for the weekend. Please post your findings on this post for all to see.
I have just re-sized all the photo's and will post them up on the site, and to the big fella ( you know who you are ) I won't put your photo up there.
To all those who didn't make it up there, you missed a great weekend, but the good news is that there is a heap of support for the next one and some dates have been suggested around the Cup Day Weekend. So as this forum is so good at doing, lets talk about it and start the planing now so everyone can keep that dates free.
To all that attended give yourself a big pat on that back and look forward to catching up soon

Better edit that to George for the winner of the coil.
I came away with 3 bits for 9.38 grams.
I have posted a photo already in another thread so will post a photo here of them once they are out of the acid and clean.
Once again, top effort.
Cheers

Re: Laanecoorie Weekend Wrap Up
Well done to all!
Glad to see some nice pieces were found and that all had a great time.
I must say that the generosity of the attendees was outstanding to raise the money you did! It goes to show that the prospecting community are there not only to help their fellow prospectors, but to also put a hand out for others. Impressive stuff!
Congratulations to the winner of the 14x9" BLITZ coil - George. We hope it brings you success.
And also to all the other winners (sounds like all of you!!! ) ... congratulations and enjoy your prizes from all those who donated gear.
Take care all
Trevor @ Coiltek Manufacturing.

Re: Laanecoorie Weekend Wrap Up
Congratulations Mariner and to the team for organising and managing a successful weekend.
It is great to see how the forum has progressed and when you see the friendliness, the support and the comaraderie on such a weekend, it makes you proud to be involved.
It seems that many found gold as well as learning how to do so. Well done from the Management, and to all involved, you are to be complemented on a very enjoyable and worthwhile event.
Jeff

Re: Laanecoorie Weekend Wrap Up
Hi all
Had a very enjoyable weekend many thanks to the sponsers and those in the background that did the little extras
to make the weekend what it was
Dingo and Tracy thanks for the hospitality
Invited me to stay provided ample refreshment then gave up an hour or so detecting to cook a roast for
Golden and myself the only area where it fell down is you did not tell me where your patches are
Hey Golden lucky i did not get into the rocket fuel i would have kept half the park awake
GoldstalkerGPX thanks for digging that dud target for me but where were you when i dug the musket
ball at more than 15 inches (Thankfully in worked ground)
Ended up with 4 pieces over the 3 day w/end 0.9 gms but detected Tuesday and part of Wednesday for another
8 pieces. The 12 came in at just under 2 gms for the trip
Cheers Ruffles
