GP Battery Empty GP Battery

Post  Acrux93 Sat Jun 04, 2011 6:26 pm

Hey guys... I picked up a s/h GP3500 a few days ago. I put the 6v dome battery on charge via the mains charger. The manual said the LED light would decrease its flashing rate is it gained more charge. It's been on for about 30hrs now & the flashing has stayed the same... really fast. Think it's a faulty battery or is this normal?

Cheers.

I don't knwo acrux93, but it sounds dodgy to me. Any comeback on the person you bought it from? If not, at least the batteries and/or chargers for those detectors are a lot cheaper to replace than for the GPX's and Lithium ion batteries.

Hi mate if your battery turns out to be stuffed after you do fencejumpers test with a multi, I use the Woody battery system on the GP3500 I am giving him a bit of a plug here, but I use his system all day and it holds charge and it is cheaper then some other systems out there.

Cheers Brian.

Thanks for the help guys. I was going to get a second battery but it looks like I'll need 2 so I think I'll be grabbing one of those Woody setups.

Cheers.

Hey mate he even sells the 1.8 meter power cord so you can put your battery in a backpack if you like to operate that way and his system is very light which makes it a lot easier to run the detector for a few hours.

Cheers Brian

on the GP3000, the LED stays on whilst charging and the MORE it flashes = the MORE charge it has = fast flashing LED - near full charge
Cheers
