Re: Goldstalker Blitz Coil
The Blitz coil has better sensitivity than the 11"Commander and probably slightly more stable.
Use it in Fine Gold under Special Menu in noisy ground with the following settings,
Tracking Fixed
Gain 13
Motion Slow
Audio Deep
Stabilizer 8
Signal 19
Tone 63 (your preference here is OK too)
Coil/Rx Mono mode
GB Speed Medium
Search mode General
Soil Timings Special (Fine Gold in Special Menu)
Hope this helps, I had a lot of fun this summer with the CT Blitz mono.

Gday Jonathan
Mate how did you find the overall depth compared to the
commander 11" mono in very hot ground ??
Cause the commander 11 mono sure is a deadly coil on the 5 for depth also..

Another new coil
Got my Blitz from Coiltek Maryborough the day they arrived, had it on the 5000 for half an hour but got rained out. Mate (Two Bob) tried it out for me yesterday on his 4500 and got a very nice piece 5 - 6 g's reckons it is OK, he may be able to give us more details when he gets home to Melbourne over the weekend

I always prefer round over elliptical designs for outright depth, so on a large nugget at depth I would say the 11" Commander pips the BLITZ. Having said that for the purpose it was designed the 14" BLITZ has some surprising qualities. Generally I'm not a fan of small coils so anything smaller than 14" round doesn't get a work out on my detector unless there is an abundance of small stuff on a patch which needs mopping up, but this BLITZ coil has come at a surprise on how stable it is in blood red clays especially damp clays. Usually a small mono in the Smooth type timings running elevated Gain will warble or have periods of instability before returning to clean threshold, the BLITZ does too but it stabilizes incredibly quickly. Probably my only complaint is a bit of touch sensitivity on the coil cable where it exits the coil, I was promised a second coil to try but do far it hasn't surfaced so not sure if it is endemic to the coils or the just the prototype I was using.
For comparatives I got a definite dig me signal one day with the BLITZ where my other similar sized coils would not response as cleanly using the same settings (same detector just coils changed out and re-ground balanced), turned out to be a 0.3 gram piece at 6 to 6 1/2 inches in hot red damp clays. The thing I really like about the BLITZ is the way the 5000 ground balances with it especially in variable ground, it is now on par with the Commanders and Nugget Finder coils. I think Nugget Finder are still the Rolls Royce of coils when it comes to construction and durability but the little BLITZ coil comes a very very close second, performance wise its on par if not slightly ahead for sensitivity (to be confirmed because I don't have one of the latest Nugget Finder 14" elliptical NPA coil yet). The best thing for me is I can now confidently detect with a Coiltek Mono coil knowing it is optimised for the GPX 5000 and the Smooth class of timings, from that point of view I can highly recommend the new Coiltek BLITZ 14" Mono.
Hope this helps,
JP

Another new coil
Hi Hotrocks & All.
Hotrocks was good enuff to lend me his 14x9 blitz coil to try & evaluate. I found it very quiet . The signal sound is different to other coils. The third signal I got was a very clear dig. At 10 to 12" out came a clean sold nugget of 5.5gr
I think I am now bias to this great coil. The rest of the days test produced the usual shotgun pellets & junks.
Thanks Hotrocks
Cheers

Ps will try to post Pic soon

Can't wait until the GoldStalker Blitz 18x12" size mono comes out also in the future. Anyone heard anything as to when?
