First go with new 5000
Hi,all gave my new machine a go over the weekend.
I walked in 5 meters and had a screamer target sounded like a .22 on the surface but 2inches down a 2 grammer.
Amazing got 4.6grams 0.3-0.4-1.9-2.0 gm.
This was on shallow digging with detector holes everywhere.
last time i visited this spot there were two fellows with 4500s working the area.
The targets were on the tops of the mounds around the holes.
all were less than 4inches deep, I cant believe they were still there!!!!
I was using the 11 ml mono fine gold and factory presets except
I up the gain to 16.
Is the 5000 to good to be true? or was i just lucky??????

Good on you abbagold. I use an SD2200d and have found gold where both 4500s and 5000s have been. Keep in mind that a good/newer machine is fantastic but ultimately though, the user still has to place his coil over the target. I was with a friend who was using a 4500 and we went to a flogged ground, flogged top the point that 100s if not 1000s of people have been through this little area, and he pulled up a 15g piece about 3.5" down that screamed at him. Even a VLF would've picked it up, but it was that just no one had placed their coil over that one particular spot. Nevertheless the 5000 is a great machine and the confidence boost it gives you alone should leap you into finding more gold. Rule of thumb, 1/3 machine, 1/3 attitude (confidence, attention), 1/3 LUCK.
