HELP please - Jewelry Lost & Found Empty HELP please - Jewelry Lost & Found

Post  laura_help Fri Apr 08, 2011 9:50 pm

Hi everyone, I'm desperately looking for somewhere to hire a metal detector or someone who offers their services for a short period of time on the Gold Coast as I lost my engagemnet ring earlier today on the beach and I know the exact spot it came off but with a screaming baby and the sky going dark I couldnt find it in time and I am really desperate.

if you or anyone you know offers such services I would appreciate it so so much if you could get in touch any time of the night on 0406527046 as I am honestly absolutely gutted and desperate.

Thank you so so much,

Laura

Thanks Dicko,
Desperately sending out e-mails but being a friday night not having much luck yet. I'll be up when the sun comes up in the morning and hubby is going to see if the local kennards have one for hire although I'm not holding my breath and even if they do not sure of the quality but worth a go.
Seems like this forum is certainly where people know what they're talking about so I've got everything crossed someone will be able to help.
Thanks again.

Post  shandeemax Fri Apr 08, 2011 10:25 pm

Hi Laura,
Have you found someone to help yet? If not I might be able to help in the morning - I live in Logan, so not too far from you. Let me know how you get on. As Choppa mentioned, there are likely to be detector operators there in the morning so you would want to be there real early if you can, also doesn't the local council use a sand sifting machine each morning on the beaches now?
Cheers, Andy

Hope you lost it above the high tide mark or it might be dragged down, if not it could be reconcentrated anywhere depending on the wave action, the longer you leave it the deeper it will get, might even have to use cancel mode, good luck.

Hi Laura

I got your message and see that some of the guys have offered advice.

As it has been the weekend, you will probably find that there will be guys beach detecting early in the morning before others get there.

I suggest you go down at sunrise and just wait till one of the regulars appear. If they are not there in the morning, they will be on Monday morning

Regards

Jeff

HELP please - Jewelry Lost & Found Empty THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post  laura_help Sat Apr 09, 2011 8:07 pm

Hi everyone, just wanted to update you and let you know that I HAVE MY RING BACK!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you all so so much for all your advice, kind offers and pointing me in the right direction, everyone on here has honestly been so friendly and helpful and I can't tell you how much you 1 - cheered me up last night and gave me some hope and 2- how much I appreciate it!

I contacted both jewellery rescue (thanks mallee00 and invanll) and john brack and both were great and put me in touch with the most lovely man Craig Brady who was at the beach by 10 am and after 5 minutes handed me my ring back! I got to the beach at about 5am before the sun came up armed with a plastic sieve and spent 5 hours sieving through sand probably whilst sat on top of my ring Very Happy all worth it though and I can't believe how lucky I've been!!

Thank you all so so much once again for everything, being from England and having my first baby over here I've been really homesick recently after spending christmas in the UK with all my family however the honestly, friendliness and helpfulness I've received over the past 24 hours has reminded me why I love this country and would never leave!

Take care everyone and have a great weekend, i sure will now:) Laura x

I would also like to thank those who contributed.

When you see what we can do as a team when someone is on the other side of Australia, it makes you realise that the world is only a small place.

Thanks fellas
