Nice nugget on the salt Empty Salty Gold

Post  Ash100456 Thu Mar 24, 2011 9:43 pm

G'day Balony, Congrats on the nuggets, I & many others wish we were there. !
May i bother you with a few questions, What model detector & coil of choice for the salt. I gave a salt lake a flick last year but it was unaudible, 4500 with a 14 x 9 mono, tried my double D that came with it to no avail. Have now got a anti-interferance coil to give it a go this season. Any suggestion on settings or tips would be really appreciated.
Cheers

Gday Ash
Mate i had a 4500 and was using a 10 " eliptical coil and found it very quiet suprisingly very quiet and very good on small gold i also use the 14" mono aswell and have done alright with it, i recently bought a 24" coiltek round mono and tried that on the salt, had a little interferience but still managed to pick up a three grammer shallow, i guess it comes down to letting your ears get used to the salt interfierence and picking out the faintest difference between the salt and signal so many times i have swung over and over the same spot thinking is there something there majority of the time nothing, but have found some good gold to. I now have a 5000 using the same coils and it seems to be doing a little better, i hope this is of some use to you if you want some more info let me no and ill try to help as much as i can.

Gday Evan
Yep its the gold stalker 14" worked really well on the 4500, havent really tried it out on the 5000 yet properly, but give it time.
