go to Wiluna from Perth
Hi friends,
I was wonder if a backpacker prospector(does not drive) can go to Wiluna from Perth.
How? if possible.
Regards
Albert

Re: go to Wiluna from Perth
Hi Albert
There is probably a bus.But WA is not the place to prospect without a reliable car.You could enquire if there are any prospecting tours that could accomadate a person without a car. There was Frenchman called Gil that used to do this out off Leonora years ago .Does anyone know of anyone still doing this?
Cheers Noel Dig24crt

Re: go to Wiluna from Perth
Hi Noel,
thank you. I will try to prospect safely.
My idea is that I prospect around towns in order to get provisions. Is is dangerous to camp in the wild in WA without a car? because of poisonous snakes, scorpions or gale? those are part of the things what I hope to know.
I planned to prospect in Canada at the very beginning . I,however found that prospecting in the forests in there is very dangerous. No road,no provision, chilling storm, out of contact from others. Thus I alter my way to WA.
I admit that I know little about WA, hope to have more advice.
Cheers

Re: go to Wiluna from Perth
Hi Noel have not seen Gil for 3 years.
Hi Albert
There is a Bus and Train service to Kalgoorlie from Perth
A Bus from Kalgoorlie to Leonora 240 Km for about $70 one way at least once a week.
Its another 250 Km to Leinster
Its another 180 Km to Wiluna
Good ground from Kal to Wiluna for prospecting (600 Km) Towns are small
but have most supplies.
Kalgoorlie is Large for outback City

hi geof_junk
good information! the distance between Leonora and Leinster is a big challenge without a vehicle.
Cheers
Albert.
