Coiltek Goldstalker 24 X 14" ELLIPTICAL
I have several Coiltek Goldstalker coils and I'm very happy with their performance.
Has anyone used the new 24 X 14" ELLIPTICAL out now?
Thanks

G'day BigNuggets.
Unless your after the kilogram slug of gold and above, you'll find very little difference between the 24x12 and 24x14.One thing for certain though, the 24x14 does ballance and run reasonably smooth and quiet on most types of ground(less extreme mineralization).

Re: Coiltek Goldstalker 24 X 14" ELLIPTICAL
Thanks Kon61, in your experience do you think the 24X14 Goldstalker will identify deeper targets
than the 18X12 Goldstalker in good soil? I've read several postings on forums saying that larger than the 18"
coil is no real advantage for debth.
I would appreciate any experience you could share, I'm looking to purchase a 24X14 Goldstalker and want to
understand any advantages it might have.
thanks,

Re: Coiltek Goldstalker 24 X 14" ELLIPTICAL
G'day BigNuggets..
The larger the coil, the greater the depth advantage it will have as metal targets increase in size.
After some testing on a 2kg lead divers weight, buried at 2 feet depth in mineralized ground,a foot in from the side of a gully wall,so as not to disturb the original ground above it,the 24x14 Goldstalker picked up the target a good 10+ inches above the 2 foot mark. In other words close to 3 feet.Whereas the 18x12 struggled to give a signal at 2 feet.
If its outright depth on large targets that your after (as mentioned above),the new Coiltek 24x14 EM will surpass all other previous Coiltek E/Monos (of similar or smaller size) regarding outright depth on targets above the kilo mark.
Remember that these tests were performed on above average mineralized ground conditions. So the quieter the ground the clearer and
and louder the target response will be. This large EM is also sensitive to say a half gram gold nugget to within an inch or so from the surface.
My personal recommendation,If you've already got the 24x12 don't waste your money (too close in comparison),but if you've only got the 18x12 and don't mind swinging the extra weight, the 24x14 would have to be a top notch patch finder coil, regarding large gold at extreme depths. PS, There will be no real depth advantage between the 18x12 and the 24x14 unless targets are above the, say, 2 ounce mark.
Cheers kon61.

Re: Coiltek Goldstalker 24 X 14" ELLIPTICAL
Hi Kon61,
Thanks for the explanation, it was a great help to me! I don't have a coil that's larger
than 18" so I think it would be a great help in gold patches. One can only hope to find
a 2 ouncer but no guts no glory!

Re: Coiltek Goldstalker 24 X 14" ELLIPTICAL
G'day 24kt.
There really shouldn't be any confusion. Both the 24x14 EM Coiltek and 30x7 NF are designed as patch finding coils, with the difference being(apart from coil dimensions)the NF is designed more for smaller gold closer to the surface, whereas the Coiltek 24x14 is designed more for larger gold at depth. To put it simpler,if your chasing gold targets from 0.1gm to 1gm within the first few inches of ground depth, you'll find the NF a much more sensitive or should i say appropriate coil for that purpose, wheres if you're after that one ouncer at 15+ inches or so depth, that's where the Coiltek will exceed and excel,on larger slugs at greater depths.
Cheers kon61.
