LEATHER GAITERS

Can anyone tell me if someone is still making gators as i seen someone on here a while back making leather ones.

Lashed out and bought myself a new set of gaiters the other day off Fleabay. I finally admitted to myself that My old canvas military jobs had passed their use by date. 28years is not too bad I suppose.
Bought a set of Sea To Summit Quagmire eVents. Made out of some trendy new stuff and are lightweight and go from ankle to just below the knee. They seem ok and will keep out most spiky grasses. Leeches can still get under them and am not sure that they would stop a determined king brown but they are not bad for 65 bucks. and are much cooler than leather, also are waterproof.

Tried my old bush walking ones recently, only to find loads of metal fasteners.

Any ideas on suppliers of appropriate gear would be useful please.

Just 2 small studs near the toe end. Do not affect my Infinum beyond 1.5 foot but might cause some minor noise in the Minelabs PIs, not sure of that though.

Hi Mike I just bought a pair of 14 oz canvas ones no metal for $70. from goanna gold detecting at greta. I have worn them the last few days in the heat & found them very comfortable & appear reasonably tough but fortunately I didnt get to test them against a snake bite, but am fairly confident they would do the job.

i got a pair from ray's outdoors last month, no probs with them yet, made from canvas & material. sorry, cannot remember what i paid for them, they werent to dear.

Try the Nuggets from downunder Website at Mudgee NSW They have Tough & Snakeproof Gaiters.
Can also attest to their great Weekends away.
