G'day Dannyvic. Welcome to the forum.

Just like the Gold Bug 2,I personally would not recommend investing money on the larger 14x8 Eliptical DD.The coil will go about 25% deeper on quiet ground than its ten inch sibling, but as the area your searching on increases in mineralization, being a high Khz VLF,you'll experience more instability and ground noise through the coil.
The standard coil the Whites GMT comes with, offers good all round ground balance sensitivity and depth. This machine performs well under most ground situations except in hot/very hot ground conditions, where depth is dramatically reduced.Apart from the extremely fast auto ground balance,it also has one of the best or should i say most accurate, audio iron grunt ID meter Ive ever encounted on a VLF.
If you want incredible sensitivity/clarity and pinpointing characteristics,on gold as small as 0.01g to within 2/3 inches depth of the target, then the 4.6 inch elliptical coil is the go.
Now if your strictly chasing depth on gold targets in mineralized soil, pulse is the way to go.

Cheers kon61.
