When is Jonathan Porter releasing a dvd on the 5000????

Im sure its been asked, but I cant find any answers. Does anyone know when JP is putting out a dvd on the 5000? Been watching the seta project. GREAT JOB on that one.

I bought a $450 coin machine recently. A dvd came with it.
Simple and easy to understand.
Minelab should do the same.

Yes I know JP does them, but he puts all the extras on and his fans would still buy them.

IF it ever stops raining up here I might be able to get out and do some filming. Arhhhhhh.... gonna be a long summer.

I think Jonathon Porters dvds are fantastic value for information and are very well done, but speaking for myself, I found his first dvd of the out back prospector much more entertaining and interesting to watch then his latest on the 4500. I found the one on the 4500 hard to watch as it was all instructions and conversations and had very little entertainment value. Id love to see his next one with more nugget digging and more on field detecting and fun like the first as it makes them more entertaining to watch..
Dont get me wrong here, You do a great job Jonathon, and I, as many others will be waiting to buy your latest dvd as soon as released.

I would have to agree with Jackogold. The 4500 video was slightly boring and i found it hard to understand. The video's need more adventure. Tuna idea of bikini girls digging the nuggets would definitely give it the edge and keep the eyeballs wide open to the viewing pleasure. The more i think about it the more convinced it would be a winner.

actually I typed that with my sarcasm finger. Don't encourage him. Porters DVD budget isn't as big as Baz Luhrmanns so may not stretch to hiring extras, and the last thing we want is to see JP doing a shoot'em up car chase scene in his ute wearing nothing but a bikini

Don't they call that drag racing? You know, driving fast cars with ladies cloths on!!! I think I might get myself a Mankini, what do you all think?

I know what is meant by the entertainment factor, I would love to spend more time filming entertaining scenes and have things less technical, alas I only have a short window of time from release of the detector so have to rush before the demand drops off, as it is things are borderline due to lost time thanks to the bloomin weather.

The 5000, staring Russell Coight as Jonathan Porter . could you imagine how many 5000s you'd have to have on stand by? that wouldn't be in case he broke one, it would be because of the amount he breaks. and they haven't started filming yet Then comes the part on how to use a pick, watch how fast he clears the set.
Now comes the part we've all been waiting for, Russell Coight as Jonathan Porter waring a mankini digging a 2ft hole. Hmm? there doesn't appear to be an emoticon to place here that best fits the mental image drawn, so i might just leave it at that.

I don't want to see Russel Coite's Coight plastered on my screen. What a sickening thought!
Looks like JP already has some stiff competition in the instructional video business. Cris Gholson also has a 4500 video and at a reasonable price.

With all due respect, and I mean that,
imho, I don't think Chris' video is much competition for JP's work.
It is more geared to the newcomer and for that reason does not
delve too deeply into specifics.
That being said it is, like JP's work, well-produced.

Although Australian DVD players will play American DVD's the quality of the image really takes a hit as the DVD player has to convert NTSC 30fps footage to PAL 25fps on the fly. I saw on the news here in California that there's MAJOR flooding in Australia right now. Farmers are losing crops, and that's a bloomin shame, but is it exposing some sunbakers?

JP's DVD's are a huge cut above anything else on the market dealing with prospecting
and they always have been. His experience and his knowledge
make what he has to say interesting and informative.
Every aspect of detecting he covers comes alive with his enthusiasm.
The camera work is imaginative and fun to watch.
His post-production work is first rate.
In short his work far surpasses anything else that is out there.

I know this sounds like an advertisement for his DVD's, it really isn't,
but after thirty plus years working in feature film production
I like to acknowledge a good production when I see one.

I also believe it was JP who taught Chris G.
the basics of putting together a DVD project
when he was over here visiting Chris some years ago.

I love the technical aspect of the 4500 DVD but I also loved the earlier ones and the fact they were more about detecting than the actual machine per say... or maybe that was just my impression. What I'd love to see JP come out with is a DVD similar to Jack Lange's Nugget Hunting ones... talking about the gullies, finding gold, flow ect... but that all said, any DVD JP comes out with will be on my shopping list.

The only tip i would give is , to make it easy for the slow on the uptake blokes like me is deliver basic instruction in point form eg: 1 2 3 or a b c , trying to deliver expert tuition in 90 mins is for me to much to fast , so into the realms of utopia please jp , A FOUR DISC DVD SET.
PS: Maybe you've already done the point form and i'm just slow
PPS: I,ve listened to trained speakers for 25 years , there is also meant to be ideal delivery time due to concentration fatiuge, around 45 minutes then the average Aussie male goes goo goo .

Hello , A little info on the dvd progress please JP , dankeshon

I've been flat out the past week or so editing footage I have in hand and am very pleased with the way it is coming up. Now I have to get out and do some more pieces to camera including the intro etc, usually the beginning of the video is the hardest part to get going, coming up with a theme and style is very difficult but once you get the ball rolling everything falls into place and the rest of the production comes on very quickly.

Conservatively I am about half way from an edit point of view, realistically about 2/3rds to completion if all goes well with filming/weather etc, then it is just a matter of getting the masters off to the duplicators and I can sit back and breath a little easier.

Sorry to sound elusive but these things are very hard to gauge especially when you've been sitting in front of a computer for 3 weeks constantly looking at yourself, half of me just thinks I was a lucky bugger to be in the spot I was filming in and why the hell am I not there now!!!
