Fences on patches
Gday all,
Have you ever found a patch with a star post wire fence running through it?
My friends and i have quiet a few spots like this.
The fence`s also seems to generate current, although only mild, and it could be through electrolisis of the star posts by minerals present.
Anyhow they are a pain in the butt, and lead to alot of missed gold.In the early days we had a technique to solve this problem.
We used a battered old gold search coil on a SD2000 and poked it around the fence, keeping the coil HARD on the ground at all times. You could get within about 12 inches before the interference became to bad.
Does anyone else have a technique (other than pulling down the fence) which is good for working fences?
