Re: Biggest Bit
Tributer, Its damn good to see that slugs of that size are still currently being found.
I dare to wonder what the adrenalin rush would feel like, when popping a whopper like that.
Cheers kon61.

Re: Biggest Bit
Yes Kon61 the adrenalin tap turned full on with the dig at a foot and a half down and the coil sweeps giving a booming thumper of a signal. By the time the next 10 minute careful digging ended with the nugget in hand i was totally buzzed out with adrenalin. Gold fever is so good eh.

Re: Biggest Bit
Actually, when i was fondling it, i swear it had Made in China stamped on it??
When Curley finally let it go ( white knuckled grip ) and i got to fondle it, i soaked it up big time, because its not often you get to fondle something as beautiful as that, let alone find one.
Soak it up Trib.

Re: Biggest Bit
We toasted to tears of joy the night he turned up here with it on his way home i can tell you.
Tribs not one for boasting about his finds, but i convinced him the night he finally put it up here for all to see, because there's nothing wrong with wallowing in the glory of such a magnificent find for as long as you can. Half the fun of this game is showing your finds to those who you share the same passion.
Finds like this keep the dream alive for many of us.

Re: Biggest Bit
LOL yes he did and no one bated an eyelid,he had been waiting for a chance to sneak a photo in (as would anyone) and no one said anything im guessing no one knows what large gold looks like .Didn't Tributor pst a pic of this ages ago? He was sitting on his postie bike, come to think of it, it was a thread about postie bikes......everyone just missed the gold he was holding too busy looking at his bike
The best thing about Tributors gold finds are they are not brought on Ebay and planted in the grd for photo shoots for product placement .
Biggest for me 29g smallest 0.02g the big one is just around the corner......down the street ................turn left at the lights......continue on for about 4000ks.......................come to a dirt road with a birdman on a post and continue west.

Biggest Bit
For me 13.7 grams, boy was it ugly, totally ironstone coated, initially thought it was a big chunk of lead!
Got a habbit of throwing small trash targets in the pocket, a few hours later pulled it out to show my
prospecting partner and gold was showing!

Re: Biggest Bit
I pulled a 6 ouncer late last year, I came close to not digging it as I thought it was my third shovel for the day, but the sight of bedrock nearby convinced me. A month later I pulled another at 27 grams in the next creek to the south, about 1200 m away, interesting thing was they both looked like Peter Rabbit.

Re: Biggest Bit
Ditto that Narra. Trib was pretty lax with it. I held it for nearly 2 hours straight. Must have been endorphin central station when he saw the golden knob in the ground, wondering how much more there was to this beauty. If any man deserved to find this, Trib was the man. Always flogging his guts out and never goes home emptyhanded. Narrawa, yours aint too far away IMO.Narrawa wrote:
