Levitating Mars Rock
Pic of Unusual rock on Mars. Has the appearance of Levitating

Another odd ball rock;
Try to imagine how that round rock got on top of that boulder.
If it flew through the martian atmosphere it would have bounced off. If it was a meteor it would have broken or bounced off, If it was thrown out of a volcano no way could it end up perched on a boulder . So did it some how do a soft landing ?

Re: Levitating Mars Rock
Definitely not photo shopped.
These are each, one of a pair of stereo images taken by Perseverance stereo camera on fed 21/ 2021
These pics are from Astronomy magazine and are genuine non photo shopped images.....NASA would have absolutely nothing to gain and buckets to lose by publishing shonky pics of Mars.

Adrian, Suggest the boulder would have been formed (way back in history when Mars had water) in the same manner as boulders at places such as the devils marbles.

Re: Levitating Mars Rock
I was not serious, Adrian. Just having a bit of a dig.
I appreciate that you have an interest and good understanding of things concerning astronomy and space in general.

Re: Levitating Mars Rock
Here is another one to scratch your heads over.
Looks like one of Mum's collection teaspoons or maybe a medieval catapult sling.
Notice, with the exception of Mums teaspoon, the surrounding rock appears to be sandstone that has been eroded by flowing water, plus it is possibly wind blown. There is what looks like sand & sandstone all over Mars along with plenty of ferrous material and if that is the case then there is likely to be some form of remains of life (if it has ever existed there) trapped within the grains of sand?
