Best SDC 2300 C cells
Hi everyone, I want to stay with C cells at this stage. What are the best (longest lasting) C cells on the market in your experience? Cheers Pete.

Re: Best SDC 2300 C cells
I no longer use NIMH Batts in my 2300.
I Have changed to Eveready Gold Alkaline C Cells...( Not Gold Tops) These batteries have a long shelf life of around 10 years and have a very low internal discharge rate.
One of these cells can deliver approx 200ma for close to 8 hours My 2300 seems to draw approx 200ma in idle and I have had up to 30 hours of use from one set of 4. ( cost 14 dollars )....Also the detector seems to run smother than when using NIMH. ( likes the extra voltage).
The NIMH have not lasted very long and do not like being recharged from flat which has resulted in several cell failures in my 2300.
Jus an opinion , not gospel.

Re: Best SDC 2300 C cells
I did try a set of 6000 mah NIMH in the SDC . They seemed to last no longer than a set of 2400mah that I had been using.
I did a current draw check on the 6000s, the max I got out of them was a tad over 2000mah. That is what happens when you try to save a few bucks on dodgy brand names from you know where.
A set of Powertech NIMH C cells rated at 4500mah delivered 3400mah after full charge and resting for 24hrs.... I have had the Powertechs for a few years, they have lasted well, so they seem to be pretty good value.
The Eveready Golds are still pumping out 2000ma after several hours of detecting and the terminal volts is down to 1.48.
