Help with smelting question

Hi:
I am not a prospector but seeking help from those of you with experience. My dad passed a while back and left us a small jar with un-processed stones and dust mixed with gold flakes and what looks like, maybe, a small nugget. I live in the Phoenix/Mesa area and wondered if any of you knew of someone or somewhere I could take the material to be crushed and smelted so that I can distribute the value of the gold to my grandchildren. Hi Tom. There is a group on Facebook called 'Prospector's Theory' which has a lot of American prospectors on it, some very well known ones as well. Maybe some there could point you in the right direction or maybe even smelt it for you.
