Sharkbait, sorry mate but while you guys have been locked up, us guys living in the Triangle have been cleaning up all those nuggies that have been lying around. Sorry to give you the bad news but you may be only visiting your sister and family as there is nothing else up here except empty holes.

Well you should be filling in your holes then and stop giving the greenies more ammunition.
Cheers

Re: Triangle Here I Come!
I have detected in a lot of areas in Vic, plus in WA, Qld and the NT. In all places, I have arrived several days behind that one person in Australia who does not fill in their holes.

I think wombat was referring metaphorically to empty holes of gold.
Bill along with other like minded prospectors regularly fill in holes left by others.
As we are all mature and responsible people on this forum I have no doubt that we all fill our holes

Thanks
I can assure everyone that I do fill in my holes. And including others that are to bloody lazy to do so. Open hole is a No, No for me and a pet hate of mine.

Nothing aimed at you Wombat, I am just venting over the fact that where ever I detect I find open holes.
A bloke I know at Wedderburn was detecting a few years ago in the Whipsticks, he ran his coil over an open hole and got a signal, noticing that the remains of an old shotgun shell were beside the hole, he dug the signal still in the hole, it was a nugget about 6 ounces I think.

Mate it is the same as speeding drivers. We all know that speeding is against the law, but people will still do it. That is the same as detecting, some fill in their holes and some don't.
In regards to the Whipstick comment. It reminded me of a chap I took out to the Inkerman lead here in Maryborough a few years back. He was just looking for relics as he only had a X-tera 305 (I think). Anyway he run it also over an un-filled hole and out came a 3.2 oz nugget. Now I always check someone elses holes before I fill them in. You never know it may just pay off.
