Coils for GPX 4500
Hi all ,checking on Coils for my GPX4500, I am thinking seriously of getting Evolution Coil 17” x 13” Solid , has anybody had any experience with this coil and found it a great coil for depth sensitivity on small gold . Would love to hear from anyone thank you . Ken

Re: Coils for GPX 4500
Hi Ken
Any of the new flat wound coils work well on the 4500 increasing the sensitivity to small deep nuggets.I've seen significant improvements with the 14"x9",12"round Evo's and the 14"Elites.Personally I prefer the larger flat wounds as they give good ground coverage and sensitivity with depth. There are places that only small coils go so a standard 8"mono or Sadie handles these already pretty well with good edge sensitivity.
I'm sure the 17"x13 would be a good choice for your 4500,try and get a heavy duty skid plate thrown in as you will need it.

Coils GPX 4500
Thanks Steve for your input ,still very new at gold detecting . Even though I get told that the commando 11” coil that comes with the 4500 is a good coil , I just found that many people have changed the option for coils like Coilteck or nugget finders , this is why one of the reason to try a different coil lol cheers ken

X coils.
I have tested all manner of aftermarket GPX coils and find that the best are the Russian X coils. Expensive but brilliant. Not only stable in hot ground, but very effective at achieving extra depth. I now use only X coils, and will slowly sell off my others.
