Re: best 4500 coils
G'day Poppy1 and welcome to the forum. . Most people are using the ML 11" mono coil as there all rounder. There are many coils to choose from. You have ML Comander coils, Coiltek coils and Nuggetfinder coils to name a few. The size is usually dependant on ground depth and conditions and or operator preferences. Hope this helps.
Cheers.

Re: best 4500 coils
Welcome to the forum Poppy1.In addition to what Mike's recommended,if you intend prospecting over shallow slatey or rocky ground in a creek or gully etc the smaller to average size elliptical coils(8x6 14x12 or 14,14x9 15x12 17x11,18x12,Coiltek,Nugget Finder or in Commander),will more than suffice for ducking, weaving and pinpointing capabilities. For long stretches of flat ground,14,16,or 18 rounds,17x11,18x12 or 24x12 will do a good enough job of it.Remember this, unless your working a particular patch on any given flat stretch of ground, ground coverage is one of the most important things to keep in mind here. The larger the coil the more ground coverage, but not to large so as to miss the half grammers closer to the surface which could lead to bigger and better finds.
