Best coils for Tibooburra using a GPX5000 Empty Best coils for Tibooburra using a GPX5000

As per the title.
I'm planning a trip out to Tibooburra in August.
I'm interested in peoples thoughts on the most appropriate coil to use, on my GPX5000, out there given the generally small prickly size of targets and the ground conditions.

I realise the SDC is the best performer out there and I'd like to get the 5000 as close as possible to the SDC performance while maintaining a decent ground coverage.

I currently own Commander 11" Mono & DD, NF 16" & Detech 15x8 - All bundle wound

I'd consider purchasing one of the following if justified.
NF 12x8 Evo,
NF14x9 Evo,
Coiltek 10x5 Goldhunter
Coiltek 6" Gold Seeker
Coiltek 9" Elite.
Detech 11x6" Mono

Welcome any/all comments from people experienced in using the 5000 at Tibooburra/Gumvale/Mt Stuart.

Thanks
Terry

Hi Bicter
I've done quite a bit of side by side testing and the Sadie in FG will get about 6 out of 10 targets against the SDC,however the signal are not as sharp.Another good choice is the 14x7 or 12x7 Advantage simply because of ground coverage with sensitivity.Any of the new flat wound or spiral coils would also work well in the smaller elliptical size.

Dave, Thanks for the reminder, I was aware of your coils but had overlooked them. Checked out your website and unfortunately, the 12x6 is a bit out of my price range.

Deutran, Very helpful information. Given your comments, would the NF 12x8 Evo compare favorably to the SDC & Sadie?

I haven't used the 12x8 only the 14x9Evo which would be quite suitable.Very hard to match the SDC its in a league of its own.

I would stay clear of coiltek coils from personal experiences and stick with NF coils, every coiltek coil I have had ended up being bump sensitive over time or were like that from the get go,NF coils have much better coil construction and after sales service is the best you will ever get from any business not just in the detecting world

Agree my favourite coil. The smallest I have found is 2 x 0.07g.Loves flat deep nuggets. We have purchased 3 of these since they were introduced and all worked perfectly. The first batch of lighter colored ones had glue issues but didn't affect the performance at all.

Everyone has their own preference to what works for them,it’s the old holden vs Ford debate, they all do what they are meant to do,but I prefer the NF coils over minelab or coiltek coils

Fellas, for whatever ones reasons, we all have our personal preferences, to what each & everyone of us feels comfortable using or being with. At some time or some stage, we've all experienced a faulty working coil so to speak, but never have I come across a coil manufacturer that wouldn't honour their warranty, by being quick to replace a faulty working coil. Cursing/swearing over a faulty product one has just bought, is both a waste of energy & time, for the issue at hand will continue to haunt you, till the issue at hand is fixed & although at times a bit of an inconvenience, the sooner one gets the problem sorted out/fixed, the sooner one can get back to doing the job at hand.

Hi bicter, I have both the NF 14x9evo and the 12x8 evo, both find gold at Tib but the 12x8 is a little noiser on the ground.
I see that I have the 12x8 mounted to the 5000 now, so it must have been the one that I dicided on last trip to Tib. I dont think any of the other coils would be as good.
