Re: whites new TDI
I went out with my new TDI today.
I got 3 nuggets (2just over 1 gram and 1 just under 2 grams)
I also dragged up several bullet casings and some iron.
One of the nuggets was fairly deep and was overlooked by me mates detector.
I am wrapped with its performance even though I had to study the instructions at home and used the TDI for the first time on some buried targets including a couple of nuggets.
The sounds are not the same as the ML and could be confusing to a ML user.
I had absolutly no troubles throughout the day and rebalanced twice during the 5 hour hunt.
Hope this helps

Hi Mate,
I too have a TDI, What Coil are where you using when you found the gold? I find the stock 12inch to be really crap for every thing!

TDI
The coil I used when I found the gold was the 6 inch mono.
I have found the stock 12 inch to be ok but not good at all on sub 1g nuggets.
It does give a faint signal but it is usually hard to detect a sub 1g nugget.
when using the TDI I recommend searching in all but use low to identify and detect smaller gold.
I hope this helps

Re: whites new TDI
well i just i just pruchased the tdi oz pro and after a lengthy talk about the capabilities with tony mills i was led to believe that it has the same comparasen as the minelab3500 as is ,it came with the bonus 6 inch coiltek goldstalker and i also purchased the 16inch nugget finder coil, ive taken his advice and believe that used the way as instructed it has the ability to find most targets (pending the user) im off out to have a decent squiz for a coupla weeks and will be back on the 27th of this month with results ,i too have been on the 5000 trip but my cash has not been as free so dollar for dollar it was my only choice ,i will pop photos of results when back ,re earlier comments of coil choice this is something tony specified and as a reletive newbie im allways looking to learn from the people who have spent time in the trenches.

p.s remember who invented pulse induction ? eric foster , the guy who started whites and doctor bruce candy from minelab used to work as a technition for whites back in the day ,im eager to show the tdi can perform to a standard of what most people expect,i too think that alot of people have been indoctranated by the hype of minelab but only time will tell.happy hunting you lot

Re: whites new TDI
Its been three weeks since the last post and as much as I try to keep up on Oz news while I am in Alaska I do not know much, its quite a sobering thought facing floods, the worst I have in Alaska is high winds and earthquakes.
I would like to know very much how the TDI Pro is working out as well, I have an authorized Whites dealer not too far away and I bought my first MD a GMT from them three weeks ago, cannot use it just yet as we still have over 2 feet of snow on the ground. I have no doubts the GMT will find small gold as its a very popular MD here in Alaska.
The TDI Pro is in my sights as an affordable alternative to the recommended GPX 5000 for when I may visit Oz around next winter (my winter). From just reading a few threads the TDI Pro seems to do well and if tuned right finds the gold, doesn't quite search as deep as the ML, maybe as much as 20% less from what I hear. The GPX 5000 is arguably powerful, deeper and yes even here in the states horribly expensive, though they do have a great package deal at my dealer.
Anyhow I hope all goes well and no problems happened.
